Astral Perceptions LLC is dedicated to delivering empathetic counseling and therapy services to individuals and families within our community. Our mission is to provide compassionate, client-focused mental health support, aiding individuals in achieving their happiest and healthiest lives. We are committed to offering psychological services that foster personal growth and well-being. Acknowledging the distinctiveness of each client, we celebrate and respect their cultural heritage, family structures, values, and personal identities.

We take a holistic approach to counseling, focusing on the mind, body, and spirit. Our counselor is trained in a variety of evidence-based techniques and therapies to help our clients achieve optimal mental health.

Virginia Berling, our licensed professional counselor associate, possesses a remarkable empathy and agape love, allowing her to genuinely care for all her clients. Throughout her diverse careers; businesswoman, international trainer, legal and accounting assistant, and high school teacher, Virginia's passion has always been drawn towards mental health services. Since returning to college in her 40's, she has dedicated herself to this field and helping others find hope, healing, and peace in their life. Virginia began her professional mental health counseling journey first in Arizona, working with the seriously and severely mentally ill at AHCCCS where she implemented many programs to aid her clients' improve their life functioning, self-esteem and self-worth. Then she served her community when Covid 19 first impacted the United States, and developed her skills as a virtual therapist at Lifeline PCS. Upon moving to Illinois, she served as a school counselor for students from kindergarten to senior year, provided mental health classes for students from kindergarten through sixth grade, and managed the grant requirements that provided the funding for these services.  In addition, she provided her counseling services  at the Massac County Mental Health Clinic to her clients, ranging from pre-adolescent to elderly, suffering from a wide range of issues: anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, dysphoria, personality, family, and career issues. During her off hours, she was a crisis counselor providing her services for inmates at Massac County Jail and emergency room patients at Massac County Hospital.

She is a joyful and proud fiancée, a mother of five happy and  accomplished children, and a grandmother to seven grandchildren. In her leisure time, she delights in crafting an array of artworks, fishing, swimming, gardening, and tending to her expanding brood of farm birds and her four dogs.
